A Summer to Remember for Newham Teens

This year, Stratford Circus Arts Centre will deliver a creative week-long summer school with Rose Bruford College for young people in Newham who don’t have access to high quality, fun activities over the holidays. This music-making summer school will teach emceeing, beat-boxing, singing and songwriting skills. All participants will be given healthy lunches throughout the week.

Young people who participate in arts education often perform better in other subjects and grow more confident as they discover new abilities.

Because Stratford Circus Arts Centre want to deliver this program for free, they are hoping you can help by making a donation this week.

Why this week?

Donations made between Monday 10th – Monday 17th of June will be doubled by the Big Give! So even if you have just a couple of pounds to spare your contribution will be doubled.

They hope to hit their target of £3,000 to make the summer a fun and productive time for local children and young people.

A report by The Childhood Trust, who are supporting this project, found that as well as being susceptible to violence and abuse when the structure of school is removed, children and young people also face an increased risk of becoming involved in anti-social activities due to boredom and lack of fulfilment, as well as potential exploitation by gangs.
