Applications are open for a free or subsidised place for your child to study at this fantastic Prep School!
Does your child have a creative talent or sporting ability you wish could be better nurtured? While sending your child to prep school may seem out of reach, the Fishmongers Faraday Award could give your little one the chance to attend Faraday School with a little help from the Fishmongers Livery Company. The award aims to provide a free or subsidised place for a child to join Faraday School in September 2020. The award will cover up to 100% of the school fees and may also contribute towards after school clubs and the school bus, depending on personal circumstances. There is one award available and applications close on January 24th.
Any child currently attending a maintained school in Year 2 or 3 is eligible to apply for the Fishmongers Faraday Award. The school is particularly keen for applicants showing promise in the arts and/or sport to register. Selection will be based on interview and references. Additionally, candidates will be asked to provide their most recent school report and to attend Faraday School for a day, where they will undertake a range of activities and assessments. No advance preparation is needed for these tests.
Faraday School is committed to giving each of their pupils the best education, with small classes, quality teaching and a personal approach. The prep school aims to inspire a love of learning, nurturing curiosity and the desire to explore, grow and create to last a lifetime. A strong emphasis is placed on literacy and numeracy, with a targeted approach that enables each child to progress at their own level.
Faraday students are presented with great literature, music and works of art to help them acquire an increased understanding of the world in which they live and build a thorough understanding of knowledge in each subject. A broad and stimulating curriculum keeps all children engaged and exposed to a variety of subjects with specialist teaching in French, Music, Drama and Physical Education.
Children join Faraday at Reception class in their fifth year and leave for senior school at the age of eleven. The school day runs from 8.45 am until 3.30 pm, with private buses running before and after school from a range of East London locations. After school and breakfast clubs are available to support busy parents from as early as 8:15am and as late as 5:30pm. Children attending will get to explore a wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer from gardening to robotics.
You can contact Faraday from their Admissions and Open Days page to arrange a visit.
The Fishmongers Faraday Award is an excellent opportunity for your child to attend a unique prep school in a fantastic setting.
