Take part in this drop-in weekly group fitness class where mums can bring their buggies, babies and toddlers too.

Affectionately known as ‘Mark in the Park’ to regulars, Mark and his sidekick Nixon whip mums and their post-baby tums into shape in no time.

Get Fit With Mark in the Park

On Mondays and Thursdays the group meets in Millwall Park by the fenced playground /viaduct near Island Gardens DLR. Just look out for all the buggies and mums!

Trainers Mark and Nixon have a wealth of experience behind them, having worked for top names such as Nike and Reebok and were even involved with some Olympic events with Dame Kelly Holmes. They bring all their knowledge of fitness, plus their parenting skills gleaned from their two children each, to run this class dedicated to mums getting fit (with occasional dads coming along too).

Dockside Fitness  – About the Class

The class lasts for an hour with elements of cardiovascular work, strength, abs and walking/running/sprinting. Exercises can all be adapted to suit your fitness, your pre or post pregnancy needs or any injuries.

Mark and Nixon are always happy to advise on extra stretches to relieve an ache or challenging exercises to progress your fitness further. They take requests and Mark brings along his van full of equipment: from mats to weight visitors to a rowing machine and exercise bike.

This is a friendly and mixed group, most come as regularly as they can, some dip in and out. All participants are very supportive of each other and like to have fun at the same time as pushing themselves harder each week and finding their fitness improving all the time.
