The Summer Holidays are fast approaching! Have you got your childcare plans sorted? The school holidays can be an excellent time to make up for cuts to art, drama, music and sport in the curriculum with specialist summer camps. Multi-activity summer camps are perfect for children who would like to try out lots of different things. They’ll spend their days exploring new talents and finding new hobbies so you can keep up your juggling act.

Food Glorious Food

A jam-packed drama and comedy summer camp for 6 -12 year olds encouraging creativity, confidence and healthy eating all at the same time. Run by family friendly theatre company Bric a Brac, this summer camp will use drama games to create characters and stories in fun, imaginative ways! Your children will love exploring new talents and learning how to make people laugh. Connecting through creative play, drama and comedy can help children build trust with each other and make new friends. Set in the Crossrail Place Roof Garden, a beautiful 300-metre enclosed garden abundant with plants and trees with an 80 seat amphitheatre where you will get to see your little star perform at the end of the week. Purple Moon Drama

There’s a new Drama Club in town for the summer holiday. Purple Moon Drama is coming to Bow from the 5th -30th of August to help fill your little one’s days with creative fun. 5 -12 year olds can spend a week or more developing their self-esteem and growing more confident every day. The club runs two summer camps every weekday; one for two hours from 2-4pm and the other from 10am-2pm giving parents some flexibility. Whether you just need a couple of hours to run errands, to do some life admin, dedicate some one-on-one time to a sibling, dip into work for a few hours or give grandparents a rest, your children will be happily entertained. The Drama Clubs are run by a trained and experienced children’s theatre facilitator and supported by a workshop assistant and a community coordinator. All staff have enhanced DBS checks and have completed up to date child safeguarding training.

Anna Fiorentini

Sign your superstar up for 5-days of fun with Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School’s themed summer camps for children aged 7-16 years. Children aged 5-12 years will love hopping about for the Summer Holidays! Let them shake it off, make new friends and channel all that boundless energy into Big BOuNCy FUN at ZAPcamp! Days run from 8:30am-5:30pm so great for working parents and half days are available for 4 year olds. Add in more flexibility with breakfast and dinner clubs. Your children will spend their days keeping active but there will be lots of down time too with creative projects and story telling. A sibling discount of 20% makes this camp great value if you have two little people to keep busy this summer.

Camp Canary

Running from the 15th July-23rd August,  Camp Canary is now Ofsted Registered so you can now use childcare vouchers and tax free allowance for this quality multi-activity summer camp.  Sign your little ones aged 4-12 (must turn 5 in August) for a day or a week or more. The camp runs from 9:30am-5:30pm with an optional breakfast club and a 10% sibling discount. Each week has a different theme with extra special events on Mondays and Fridays. Find out more

Better House Club

Drop your kids off at Mile End Leisure Centre for some Holiday Club fun. Better run great holiday camps to suit lots of different interests. Each day is pre-planned with activities ranging from sports activities to arts and crafts. These activities include football, zorbing, swimming, gymnastics, practising their badminton serve, and playing on bouncy castles.

QMSU Sports Camp

Keeping kids active is so important. Especially with the rise in childhood obesity and so much screen time. QMSU Sports Camp offers an excellent value camp for families of children aged 8-13 years. Running from July 29th – August 23rd the camp will give children the opportunity to participate in up to 15 different sports and activities per week. Children of all abilities are encouraged to develop their sporting and social skills in an engaging, enjoyable and positive environment.  They can attend for a standard day running 10am-4pm or extended day 9am-5pm. Chisenhale Dance

Your child will be inspired over a week of creative dance that explores art and dance by going upside down, high and low, making shapes and new friends! Young dancers aged 4-7 years will be immersed in dance games, new styles of movement with elements of contemporary dance and yoga/stretching as well as creative tasks where they can have a go at making their own dances.

The week will feature visual art that children can respond to in dance, using lines, levels and dynamics. As a group they will paint a collaborative mural that relates to the new art they’ve seen and parallels how we can be moved to recreate works in space with our bodies and creativity. There are also 10 bursary placements for families on low incomes.

Lemon Art Lab

Art can be found and done everywhere, with the Lemon Art Lab Holiday Camps your child will explore various Art museums as well as having outdoor adventures. With squeedgee painting and Olafur Eliasson at Tate Modern, a visit to Just…Rave at the Satchi Gallery and making string geometric art themselves, this camp is about encouraging a life long love for Art. One of those summer camps you’ll wish you could come along to, full of free thought and creativity, while you pack off for another day at the office. Ho hum.

Tower Hamlets Holiday Childcare

The Tower Hamlets Holiday Childcare Scheme is Ofsted registered and provides childcare for children aged 3 to 13 years old. The holiday provision takes place in Tower Hamlets schools and operates during the school holidays, (excluding the Christmas break), from an option between 8am to 6pm (for working parents) or 9am to 5pm. Parents should provide their child with a healthy packed lunch. These clubs are often fairly oversubscribed so make sure to book in advance. Make sure to follow their instructions to apply  and fill out an application form for a place for your little one.

FOTHCP Forest School

Forest School is made up of a very wide range of experiences and adventures, which can include bush craft skills, whittling, fire lighting and cooking on fires, through to bug hunts and bird watching. Children can also take part in tailored activities designed to help them connect to their environment through arts and crafts, games and science based investigation activities. The unique, natural environment of THCP is at the very heart of all the sessions and children will discover the wonderful habitats found through a choice of inspiring hands-on activities and games. Their summer camps are very popular and some days are already sold out.
