Theatre Based on the Experience of  Young Carers

Coming to Stratford Circus Saturday, the 16th March, Need a Little Help is a deeply moving and joyfully uplifting piece of interactive and physical theatre. Based on the experiences of young carers, this performance will delight audiences aged 2-7 years. Created by the award-winning ensemble, Tangled Feet, in partnership with children’s theatre specialists, Half Moon, this is an important story for all of us.

Joe and Ella are a great team – they make each other laugh, help each other out and tackle all the chores their busy lives throw at them. But one morning things begin to change when Joe gets all tangled up and Ella has to do things alone. What will Ella do now? Will she be able to continue as before, or will it all get too much? If only she had a little help…

In a joyful and immersive space, the young audience will help the performers look after each other, stepping into the shoes of young carers.

Support for Young Carers

With cuts to adult social care, the number of recognised young carers in the UK has risen by 10,000 in just 4 years! This performance explores what it means to look after someone else when you are young. A playful reminder of a solemn situation faced by a growing number of young people. Exploring, playing, being silly and having time for fun is the right of all children. As an aging society it is important we are mindful of the young people who have to fill in some very big shoes.

If you know a young carer who could do with some help, TH Young Carers and Siblings Group could help them reach the support they need.
