Vicky Park – Half Term Park Life

Time out awarded Victoria Park London’s most loved park this year! And so its no surprise that this half term Vicky Park is definitely where its at with activities for all ages.

Victoria Park Splash Pool

Victoria Park Splash Pool will be opening Saturday the 26th of May. A great place to cool down and let your little rascals run wild as the weather starts heating up. The pool opens at 11am until 5pm daily and is situated at the back of the large adventure playground (Area D5).

All Points East In The Neighbourhood

Along with impressive headliners like Bjork and LCD Soundsystem there will be a free 4 day festival in the park called In the Neighbourhood. The All Points East site will host a vibrant programme of free activities and entertainment in collaboration with the local community. From Outdoor Cinema, Live Music & Entertainment, Street Food to Pop Up Bars, Theatre, Arts, Sports & Wellbeing, Children’s Activities and so much more. We’ve picked out some of the highlights..

All Points Equal

Free entry and activities celebrating 100 years of votes with protest and banner making crafts for all ages, with talks and film screenings of Suffragette and Made in Dagenham.

Hackney Arts

Hackney Arts will be popping up at the festival to bring their special brand of creative mischief supported by Great Art. Setting up camp in their own technicolor tent, Hackney Arts will be running free drop-in creative workshops. With sessions from 3D drawing, henna design, making flower crowns, paper marbling, woodblock printing and more, you can drop-in any time and stay as long as you like to get your dose of arty festival fun.

Free Aerial Circus Performances and Workshops with Upswing

Tower Hamlets Aerial circus company Upswing arrives at All < Back East In The Neighbourhood to share how they blend aerial circus, theatre and dance together in a wonderful jumble that’ll have the audience gasping. Visitors can enjoy free performances throughout each day and evening, the bravest can have a go in one of the free open workshops with professional circus artists.

Three – Fairytales Unpacked Halfmoon Theatre

Half Moon presents a Wrongsemble production of Three – Fairytales Unpacked as part of the In the Neighbourhood Festival. Perfect for ages 3-8yrs

Three wishes, three witches, three sisters, three pigs, three bears, three musketeers

Three singing actors weave together famous tales, which all feature the elusive number three! Brought to life with a flurry of original sing-a-long songs, live music and brilliantly inventive storytelling, the flamboyant players burst from their wagon of forgotten fables to re-tell the stories of Rumpelstiltskin, Goldilocks and Grimms’ Three Wanderers as never before.

When: Mon 28 10.10am & 11.10am / Tue 29 May, Wed 30 & Thu 31 10.30am, 12.30pm & 2.15pm


Free Children’s Interactive Workshops with Coney

Coney are interactive theatre-makers from Tower Hamlets who create games, adventures and play where people can choose to take a meaningful part. All following the principles of adventure, curiosity and loveliness.  This May half term they will be putting on a free workshop “Small People, Big Protest”  with local families. The grown-ups present big ideas about the world and leave Coney to create a procession and celebration with their small people. Making a big protest for the world they want to see, in a jamboree of banners, speeches and probably quite a lot of drums!

Free Children’s Arts Workshops with Stitches in Time

Tower Hamlets Charity Stitches < Back Time uses the arts to bring all kinds of people together. Inviting you and your family to roll up your sleeves and join their creative community. Each day they’ll be doing different, free workshops. Help them to construct and then join in their junk orchestra, create a turner prize-worthy recycled sculpture, and feature in a giant collage.

Taster Days

Along with all of this entertainment Victoria Park will be host to free activities to keep your kids active and learn some new skills. With taster days of Bowls, Fishing, Canoeing and Chess your children will love getting outside and learning new skills.
