Housed in a converted Victorian board of works the Half Moon Theatre building is impressive let alone what awaits families inside. Their programme of performances for children start with sensory theatre for babies right up to tackling complex subjects for those coming of age.

The theatre has an attached arts space where local artists can show their work. For every exhibition there is a gallery trail and children are invited to respond to the work they see by drawing or writing messages on chalkboards.

Half Moon Youth Theatre Classes

Running seven youth theatres starting from year 1 right up to age 18, the Half Moon theatre’s weekend classes are sure to ignite the passions of many young thespians. But don’t take our word for it, here’s what Dame Helen Mirren has to say about it:

Half Moon is the kind of organisation which ensures theatre will continue to thrive and inspire and I am happy to support it.”
