Hurry mums and dads, summer is coming and the kids need entertaining! We’ve rounded up the best clubs and activities across the borough for summer 2017, from football camps to outdoor pursuits. Book ’em before they’re gone….

1) Kiddkicks Summer – Football & Athletics

This summer, Kiddikicks are running summer sessions made up of a mix of athletics and football at various local venues to keep the kids on the go including Vicky Park and London Fields on Saturdays and Clissold Park on Thursdays.

2) Anna Fiorentini – Make a Musical In A Week

This award winning theatre and film school is running summer workshops in Hackney this July and August to keep budding thespians occupied this summer including a chance to make a musical in a week and morning sessions for Teenie Weenies (4-6 year olds).

3) Kekoa Football Coaching – Summer Camp – George Greens School

This popular football school on the Isle of Dogs is running a week long camp this summer. The four hour sessions running daily (including a lunch break) will be packed with fun with an emphasis on creativity and confidence and taking place at George Greens School.

Dates: 31st July – 4th August 2017. Times: 10am – 2pm. 3DW. Price: for one week £60.

 4) All Around The World at Pollyanna Training Theatre

This established performing school in Wapping is hosting a summer club for one week only – don’t miss out! Children ages 4-11 are invited to take part in All Around The World – encompassing singing, dancing and acting leading to a group show at the end.

5) Summer Holiday Short Courses at Mile End Leisure Centre

Mile End Leisure Centre has a jam packed timetable of sports this summer for 5 – 15 year olds plus swimming and soccer for toddlers too. Check out their timetable and sign up the kids to their fave sports to keep them busy during the long break, including trampolining, gymnastics, athletics, diving and more.

Dates: 24th July – 1st September. Prices: £20.50 per course plus concessions.

6) Forest School at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park

cemetery_parkIf you go into the woods today…. the lovely Cemetery Park is running its popular Forest School this summer. Kids can delve deep in the forest to learn bush craft skills, build dens, and cook on campfires. Read more about the Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. Dates: 31st July – 11th August. Ages: 6-14 year olds (younger children welcome if accompanies by an adult). Cost: £30 per session, £75 for all three sessions/£150 for six sessions, 10% sibling discount.

7) Clerkenwell School of Ballet Summer Dance Workshop

Clerkenwell School of Ballet invites your little stars to see summer out with a bang on this four day workshop packed with singing, dancing, arts & crafts, prop making, costume design and a show stopping performance for mums and dads at the end.

8) Tales From Neverland

If you love Peter Pan, sign up to this summer project on offer at The Space theatre on the isle of Dogs. Children aged 6-13 can bag a space on this free acting filled with games, character creation, dancing and set and costume design.

Kids will develop skills in performance and communicating culminating in a new performance inspired by themes of Peter Pan, performed in the Crossrail Place Roof Garden.

Dates: 31st July – 4th August 10am to 6pm and 5th August 10am – 3pm. Ages: Open to 6-13 year olds. Backstage roles available for 13+. Booking: FREE. To register your child please adam@space.org.uk

9) Tower Hamlets Summer Programme

The council has a large summer programme of events and activities offering everything from  athletics, cricket, cycling and waterspouts to summer fairs and more across the borough. See their events for more info.
